TAHEA Mwanza has consistently used Early Childhood Development (ECD) as an entry point to strengthen families and unlock broader social outcomes. Over the last five years, we have:

  • Reached 32,685 children (16,039 boys and 16,646 girls) through ECD and school readiness initiatives.
  • Engaged 567 youth through life skills, leadership, and economic empowerment programs.
  • Supported 15,000 adults (9,150 women and 5,850 men) with training in parenting, household economics, microfinance, and caregiving.
  • Trained 306 teachers and early childhood caregivers in child-centered, play-based learning approaches.
  • Mobilized 17,408 parents and caregivers to develop learning and play materials, strengthening home–school connections.

Our community-based approach has also fostered a new generation of changemakers:-

  • Women group coordinators, youth leaders, teachers, and local champions
  • Community resource persons, local government officials, and school committee members
  • 1,296 trained community resource persons delivering microfinance and nutrition training
