Background
Tanzania Home Economics Association is a Professional National Non-Government Organization (NGO) founded in March, 1980. The Organization was registered in October, 14th 1980 under the Tanzania Societies Ordinance 1954 with registration number SO.6179. And later attained a certificate of NGO Compliance No. 1732 on 4th December, 2006 under NGO Act of 2002. In order to comply with NGOs regulations 2019, the Mwanza Branch was registered separately on 22nd April, 2022 as TANZANIA HOME ECONOMICS ORGANIZATION (TAHEA MWANZA) with registration number 00NGO/R/3129. TAHEA MWANZA is implementing Education, Agriculture, Improving rural housing, Health and Nutrition programs in Mwanza region.
Every policy is shaped by two forces: background analysis and foreground politics. The political forces are loud, self-serving and, in the case of energy policy, well known.
Main Purpose of the Role
TAHEA MWANZA is currently looking for a volunteer to administer and maintain organization’s social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Linkedln. This is part of the large initiative to increase TAHEA Mwanza visibility by showcasing the work that we do with communities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate, create and place contents for the organization’s social media platforms
- Work with the Projects Managers/Coordinators teams about contents development, topics, events and opportunities.
- Manage social media messaging and conversations
- Participate in field activities with projects teams to develop on time/live images and videos contents for the social media.
- Manage, lead and provide regular updates of social media
- Participate in design and graphics for social media and website
- Read, sign and adhere to the TAHEA MWANZA Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and conform to follow it all the time while working with TAHEA MWANZA. This includes obtaining consent before taking photos and videos.
Qualifications
- Experiences in social media, with a marketing, communications and creative design background.
- Strong language and communication skills including proofing and editing
- Proficient knowledge of graphic software including the components of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
- An openness and willingness to learn and share
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Swahili and English Languages
- A highly self motivated individual who can work under minimal supervision, with ability to meet deadlines
- Read, sign and adhere to the TAHEA MWANZA Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and conform to follow it all the time while working with TAHEA MWANZA. This includes obtaining consent before taking photos and videos.
